“Wrestlers Don’t Retire” – John Cena Makes Honest Confession
John Cena’s retirement tour has been viewed suspiciously by some wrestling fans.
Some out there have frequently claimed that the 17-time world champion will wrestle in more matches after December 13, although not as a full-time competitor.
Since the late 2010s, Cena has been a part-timer, with his focus shifting to his Hollywood career.
John Cena has starred in various high-profile films, including movies in the Fast & Furious and Transformers franchises. Cena is also the headliner of Peacemaker, a TV show about a DC Comics character.
The 48-year-old star will compete in his final match at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event XLII in Washington, DC.
His challenger is Gunther, who won multiple rounds of the “Last Time Is Now” tournament, created to determine Cena’s final opponent.
He recently acknowledged The Ring General, stating that he was happy to fight someone he respected. He also claimed to bring his best in his final match.
Meanwhile, Gunther has promised to make Cena tap out, something he has not done in over two decades.
John Cena Welcomes Fans’ Skepticism Surrounding His Retirement
John Cena does not mind the skepticism from fans surrounding his retirement.
During a recent appearance on Chris Van Vliet’s Insight, he even acknowledged that wrestlers do not really retire, something that history has been privy to more than once.
I love that, and I don’t knock them for that. Because this has never been done before. Wrestlers don’t retire. So to be the first one, you’re gonna run into some scepticism.
Cena also revealed the truth about handpicking his opponents during the retirement tour.
