John Cena Losing At Royal Rumble Was Obvious To WWE Hall Of Famer

John Cena

John Cena losing at the Royal Rumble didn’t surprise Kevin Nash, who had a funny reason why he knew Cena would lose.

There were some popular picks to win the Men’s Royal Rumble with former WWE Champions John Cena and CM Punk leading the way. Most fans assumed that Cena would either win his third Rumble match or Punk would win his first Rumble match, but instead of that, both men lost.

The final two men in the Royal Rumble were Jey Uso and John Cena. While Jey is popular with the fans, many people watching likely thought that Cena winning was a formality since it was his last Rumble match and it would make for a great story for Cena to challenge for the WWE or World Title at WrestleMania 41. Instead, Jey Uso slipped away from Cena’s Attitude Adjustment attempt and Jey knocked Cena off the apron for the win.

It was not a surprise that Cena was gracious in defeat because he respectfully shook Jey’s hand after the match.

Kevin Nash is a two-time WWE Hall of Famer who has a lot of experience being in Royal Rumble matches, even though he’s never won one of them. Nash has been a runner up like Cena, though.

While speaking on his Kliq This podcast, Nash made a sarcastic remark about how he knew Cena wasn’t going to win.

“Especially when John came down and took off his shirt and he didn’t have a tan, I was like, there’s no way — this is not going to be his way into WrestleMania with no tan.”

Cena has been in Hungary filming a movie, so perhaps that has affected his tanning sessions as well.

Kevin Nash Jokes That He Could Beat John Cena’s Title Record

As he continued, Kevin Nash teased the idea of wrestling again and becoming a guy with 18 World Title wins.

“Cena put himself in the Elimination Chamber after Royal Rumble saying that he thought at this point in his career, he deserved that right and he was going to get his seventeenth championship and he was going to do it and leave on top at WrestleMania. He said that [he wants] to win the 17th not for myself but for the guy that wins the 18th title so I can shake his hand.

I’m thinking to myself like god man, maybe I got to come back and win 12. This is going to be rough, I know I feel good with the stem cells but I mean, you’re gonna have to Sasha Banks me and give me all the belts right off the bat.”

John Cena is determined to win the Men’s Elimination Chamber Match at the Elimination Chamber PLE with CM Punk and Drew McIntyre as two of the other wrestlers in the match. The final three wrestlers are not confirmed yet. Elimination Chamber takes place on March 1st in Toronto.
