John Cena Can’t Lose At WWE Survivor Series For Major Reason
A wrestling legend has explained why John Cena should probably pick up the win at Survivor Series.
There are just two more dates left on John Cena’s retirement tour as an active WWE superstar:
- At WWE Survivor Series on November 29th, Cena will defend the Intercontinental Title against Dominik Mysterio in Dom’s hometown of San Diego.
- At WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13, Cena will face the winner of the Last Time Is Now Tournament in Washington, D.C.
That’s it. After 23 years since joining the WWE main roster, Cena is wrapping it up against Dirty Dom and the LTIN tournament winner, which is rumored to be Gunther, who is at least in the final eight of the tournament.
Regarding the Survivor Series match, some fans think that the 48-year-old Cena should lose to the 28-year-old Mysterio to put over the younger guy in his second-to-last match.
Dominik Mysterio Doesn’t Need Win Over John Cena At SummerSlam
Legendary wrestling manager and booker Jim Cornette made the point on his Jim Cornette Drive Thru podcast that Dominik doesn’t need to beat Cena to win his IC Title back.
“I don’t think it hurts Dominik to lose in San Diego. Oh, it’s too close to my hometown. And I think it would be, I don’t know, it’d be kind of blah if he won it back. But does he do something to hamper Cena for his very last match, in the process of getting disqualified or coming up short from actually winning the belt?
I don’t think it’s necessary for Dominik’s long-term success that he has to win in San Diego. I wouldn’t have John lose his last two in a row because then it makes each one mean less.”
In his last match on WWE Monday Night Raw, John Cena teamed up with Sheamus and Rey Mysterio to beat The Judgment Day’s Dominik Mysterio, Finn Balor, and JD McDonagh.
The next WWE PLE is Survivor Series on November 29th in San Diego. Here’s the lineup so far:
* Men’s War Games Match: CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso & Roman Reigns vs. Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Logan Paul, Drew McIntyre & Brock Lesnar
* Women’s War Games Match: Rhea Ripley, Iyo Sky, Alexa Bliss, Charlotte Flair & AJ Lee vs. Nia Jax, Lash Legend, Asuka, Karii Sane & Becky Lynch
* Intercontinental Championship: John Cena vs. Dominik Mysterio
