John Cena Makes Intriguing Promise As WrestleMania 41 Nears

John Cena promo on WWE Raw

John Cena isn’t slowing down.

The wrestling world has been buzzing since John Cena sensationally turned heel at Elimination Chamber. To add to the excitement, the star is now just weeks away from a clash with Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41.

Importantly, if Cena wins he’ll finally surpass Ric Flair on the World Championship list with 17 title reigns.

On the March 31 edition of Raw, Cena came face to face with Rhodes once again, but this time he appeared more fired up than he has for years. The veteran took shots at Rhodes for his run with AEW, and for being a “nepo-baby” who relies on mediocrity.

For his part, Rhodes called the challenger a “piece of sh*t,” and reminded him that fans spent years chanting that he couldn’t wrestle.

John Cena Is Determined To Remain Unpredictable

During an interview with PEOPLE, Cena looked ahead to his match at WrestleMania and promised there’s more “unpredictability” on the way.

“I’m going to say that there’s more unpredictability on the way. Here’s the stance I’m going to take on it, and I think hopefully I can put it in terms you can understand: We’re in the middle of a very riveting season of episodic television and you are kindly asking me to give you spoilers, and I can’t do that.

What I did really enjoy about your question is you expressed the unpredictability of WWE programming, and I think that’s one strong point of the current state of WWE is its unpredictability in its programming.”

During the same interview, John Cena publicly discussed a past skin diagnosis for the first time. While urging people to take care of themselves, Cena disclosed that he’d had two cancerous spots removed in the past.
