John Cena & Hulk Hogan Team Up In Rare WWE Match (VIDEO)

WWE John Cena Hulk Hogan

A rare tag team match with John Cena & Hulk Hogan has been shared by WWE.

John Cena and Hulk Hogan are two of the biggest superstars in WWE history. The two men will be remembered for being two of the biggest babyfaces of all time with Hogan as the top star in the 1980s and into the early 1990s while Cena was on top as WWE’s biggest babyface from the mid-2000s and for the decade after that.

While a matchup with Cena facing Hogan likely would have been a big deal during The Hulkster’s final WWE run in the mid-2000s, they never had a singles match together. However, they did team up in some dark matches that took place after WWE television shows went off the air.

The WWE Vault YouTube channel has been praised by wrestling fans for posting some incredible content that many WWE fans didn’t know existed. They recently posted a six-man tag team match with Hulk Hogan teaming up with WWE Champion John Cena and World Heavyweight Champion Batista.

It’s a match that took place on August 8th, 2005 when Hogan, Cena & Batista defeated Shawn Michaels, Kurt Angle and John Bradshaw Layfield in a tag team match. The match took place just a few weeks before Hogan beat Michaels at SummerSlam 2005 in the main event of that show.

After all six guys were involved in the match, Hogan was able to finish off JBL with the dreaded big boot to the face followed by a leg drop for the win.

John Cena Praised For Having The Hardest Role In Wrestling History

JBL has gone on record in the past as saying that John Cena had a difficult role as the top guy in WWE in the era that followed Steve Austin and The Rock. JBL went on to say he wants Cena to win a record-setting 17th World Title in WWE.

“John Cena had the hardest role in wrestling history. He followed the Attitude Era where you could flip off your boss, drink beer on television, girls were out there next to nothing, sometimes nothing and he had to have a PG, to G-rated era and be the champion in that era.

I don’t know if anybody in the history of the business could have done that except for John Cena, it’s incredible what he did. I’d love to see him win his 17th.”

The next time John Cena will appear on WWE TV again is unknown, but he has said he will be at Raw’s Netflix premiere on January 6, 2025 in Los Angeles to begin Cena’s final year as a WWE superstar before his in-ring retirement.
