Why John Cena Is Guaranteed To Win At WWE Clash In Paris

John Cena

A win for John Cena seems likely at WWE Clash in Paris due to the looming presence of the next opponent.

On the last WWE SmackDown before SummerSlam, John Cena ended his heel turn by making it clear that’s who he really is. Since then, the crowds have been behind him.

At WWE SummerSlam, John Cena lost the WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes in a terrific Street Fight that most people are calling not just Cena’s best match of his retirement tour, but one of the best matches of his career.

After the match, Cena told Rhodes in the ring, “That’s the best I’ve got.” After the match, Brock Lesnar made his WWE return after two years away and dropped Cena with an F5 to set up a future match between the two legends.

Following SummerSlam, Cena went right into a feud with Logan Paul after teaming with Cody Rhodes against Paul and Drew McIntyre.

To get fans ready for Cena’s match with Paul at Clash in Paris on August 31st, Cena verbally destroyed Paul in a promo exchange in the ring that was a nice reminder of how great Cena is as a talker.

That altercation led to Paul trying to strike the former 17-time WWE World Champion, but Cena was ready for him and dropped Paul with an Attitude Adjustment.

John Cena Needs The Win At WWE Clash In Paris For A Simple Reason

At the WWE Wrestlepalooza PLE, which will debut on ESPN in the US on September 20th, it’s expected that John Cena will face his former rival Brock Lesnar at the show in what could be the final match between two men who were training to be WWE superstars 25 years ago.

With Wrestlepalooza in mind, former WWE superstar Aiden English, who now works for TNA as an announcer using his real name Matthew Rehwoldt, made the point on his Rebooked Wrestling Podcast that the Cena-Paul match will likely end with Cena’s hand raised as the winner because of the Lesnar match that is less than one month away.

“Officially, the big colorful entrance [hinting at the face turn before SummerSlam 2025] is back. But he lost, and then he got beat up by Brock Lesnar.

John Cena, in this moment, needs a win. This is the re-establishment of Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect. Put the bad guy down. Stand up. You want some? Come get some. Victory in the main event. This is the chance to reset the table with this John Cena.”

The next WWE PLE is Clash in Paris on Sunday, August 31st. Here’s the lineup so far.

* World Heavyweight Championship: Seth Rollins (c) vs. CM Punk vs. LA Knight vs. Jey Uso

* John Cena vs. Logan Paul
