John Cena Forced To Apologize Backstage After Recent WWE Moment? Truth Revealed
John Cena recently did something out of character that surprised WWE’s higher-ups.
At Crown Jewel in October, Cena faced AJ Styles in a singles match.
However, before Alicia Taylor introduced Styles, the 17-time champion pulled out a paper from his pocket and handed it to her.
It contained a custom introduction that Cena had written for the veteran wrestler, which had references to the latter’s previous companies.
During a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, the 48-year-old admitted to going about it the wrong way because he did not have prior permission to do that.
He also said that he apologized for ‘going into business for himself.’
Cena recently spoke to appeared on The Pat McAfee Show, where he clarified that he was not forced to apologize, but he did it of his own accord.
The apology was by choice. I was forced by no one. It’s something I had to do. I didn’t feel right. Had I asked permission to do it, I more than likely would have been allowed. I’m always in search of a good explanation. If somebody says no and then gives me a good explanation, ‘Well, that’s no.’ If someone has a suggestion and gives me a good explanation, that’s fine. John Cena’s Heel Turn Criticized By Former Rival
John Cena shockingly turned heel at the 2025 Elimination Chamber PLE and aligned with The Rock in the process.
While some fans enjoyed the run, others criticized it before the gimmick ended abruptly before SummerSlam.
Wade Barrett, who feuded with the ‘GOAT’ the Nexus’ peak days, recently came down hard on the heel turn during an interview with Metro.
I don’t know if he took some bad advice on the whole heel turn. I didn’t like it at all.
I didn’t think it was the right move, and I think his course correct around about SummerSlam time was absolutely the right thing to do.
I think he owed it to the WWE Universe and, of course, his legions of Cenation fans to close this thing out the right way and give people what they wanted from him, which is the John Cena they’ve known and loved all along.
