John Cena To Feud With 17-Time WWE Champion Next?
John Cena faced AJ Styles at WWE Crown Jewel 2025 on October 11, 2025, at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia. This match was part of Cena’s retirement tour and served as a final chapter in one of WWE’s most storied rivalries.
Cena won the match by pinfall after hitting Attitude Adjustment on Styles. Before finishing, Cena paid tribute to several wrestling icons he has faced over his career by performing moves synonymous with their signature styles. He incorporated Chris Jericho’s Walls of Jericho, Randy Orton’s RKO, The Miz’s Skull Crushing Finale, and even Rusev’s Camel Clutch, showing reverence to his legendary opponents.
The atmosphere reached a poignant high when Cena kissed Styles on the forehead before delivering the Sister Abigail. The crowd responded with cheers and lit up the arena with their phone flashlights in tribute to the late Bray Wyatt, which even made Triple H emotional.
Seth Rollins Has To Beat John Cena To Become the GOAT
After Crown Jewel, Cena has only four dates left on his farewell tour. He’s set for two Raw appearances on November 10 and 17 and two PLE dates at Survivor Series on November 29 and Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13. His next opponent is yet to be announced, and wrestling analyst Sam Roberts thinks it should be 17-time champion Seth Rollins.
Rollins beat Cody Rhodes to win the 2025 Crown Jewel Championship on Saturday. He proved that he’s the best of the best, but Roberts thinks that if Rollins actually wants to become the GOAT in WWE, then he has to beat John Cena, one of the greats in the business, one last time before the latter hangs up his wrestling boots in December 2025.
Roberts said on Notsam Wrestling:
If he’s [Seth Rollins] not going straight to a Roman Reigns or a CM Punk, the next step could be building towards this space where, ‘Okay if you’re the greatest of all time, prove it. Can you beat the greatest of all time, John Cena? … Seth Rollins has to be the greatest of all time. And in order to do that, he has to beat John Cena. He has to face John Cena one more time. And he has to beat John Cena in John Cena’s final year. (From 12:02 to 12:45)
