John Cena Drops TNA Wrestling Tease
John Cena to TNA?
On January 16th, WWE officially announced a multi-year partnership with TNA Wrestling. As noted in the press release the agreement is “aimed at creating unprecedented crossover opportunities within WWE and TNA programming for NXT Superstars and TNA Wrestling Stars.”
This crossover will see TNA-contracted wrestlers appear in NXT and on WWE Premium Live Events, while WWE talent will feature on Impact and TNA pay-per-views.
The two companies began working together in early 2024 with Jordynne Grace appearing in the Women’s Royal Rumble Match. The star went on to wrestle several times in NXT, while the likes of Joe Hendry and Frankie Kazarian were among those who also featured on the show. Meanwhile, Arianna Grace, Karmen Petrovic, Dante Chen, Wolfgang, and more went in the opposite direction.
John Cena Gets People Talking
Following the announcement fans quickly began hyping up potential cross-promotional matches, with several calling for AJ Styles to return to the company where he made his name.
In a new post on Instagram, John Cena has confirmed that he’s very much aware of the new deal, sharing an image of the WWE and TNA logos together. The post has sparked speculation, that no matter how unlikely, that Cena could make a quick stop in TNA before he retires at the end of 2025.
On the January 6th episode of Raw, Cena made his WWE return to kick off his retirement tour and declare himself for the Royal Rumble.
Following the appearance, it was reported that John Cena could challenge Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania with the Undisputed WWE Title on the line.
