John Cena Gives Definitive Answer On Possibly Facing Triple H

John Cena vs. Triple H at WWE Greatest Royal Rumble

John Cena finally addressed the possibility of facing Triple H on his WWE farewell tour.

The Game last competed in January 2021 when he squared off with Randy Orton on Monday Night RAW. The Chief Content Officer retired the following year due to serious heart issues.

Triple H has since been adamant that his wrestling days were behind him and he was only focused on his behind-the-scenes job. Nevertheless, that did not stop some experts from predicting he would come out of retirement to face John Cena in his final match.

The Undisputed WWE Champion recently addressed the possibility of facing The Cerebral Assassin during his appearance at the 2025 SummerSlam press conference.

When Michael Cole asked him if he wants to check other boxes in WWE before hanging up his boots, the 17-time world champion took the question to the audience in attendance. They immediately started suggesting potential opponents for Cena.

When a fan suggested Triple H’s name, Cena was quick to shut that idea down.

Hunter Hearst Helmsley? No, we can’t do that one. [19:21 onwards]

John Cena was involved in an altercation ahead the press conference

The Franchise Player found himself in the middle of the action during his entrance at Fanatics Fest ahead of the 2025 SummerSlam press conference.

While making his entrance, John Cena was interrupted by Mr. Money in the Bank, Seth Rollins. The Visionary got in Cena’s face and seemingly teased to cash in on him. The 17-time world champion then turned around and left.

Meanwhile, CM Punk emerged from the crowd and confronted The Visionary. Their confrontation escalated into a physical altercation, prompting security to rush in to separate the two.
