John Cena Criticized By WWE Hall Of Famer For “Weak” Promo

John Cena WWE Raw Promo

John Cena’s first WWE promo since turning heel has been criticized by a legendary WWE Hall Of Famer.

Cena stunned the wrestling world at Elimination Chamber by viciously assault his upcoming WrestleMania 41 opponent, Cody Rhodes, after securing a shot at the WWE Championship with victory inside the daunting structure whilst aligning with ‘The Final Boss’ The Rock.

The 16-time World Champion finally broke his silence when Raw emanated from Brussels, Belgium on 17th March, placing the blame for his actions solely at the feet of WWE fans for mistreating him during his two decades on the main roster.

Whilst Cena’s promo was well-received amongst fans who were intrigued to hear about their former hero’s shock decision, legendary WWE Hall Of Famer Eric Bischoff was somewhat less impressed.

Speaking during a recent edition of his popular podcast, ‘83 Weeks‘, the former WCW President noted his belief that Cena fell short by not explaining his actions clearly enough whilst sharing his disappointment at the lack of drama involved:

“There’s got to be a reason why. And if you start an angle out in that element of the story, that inciting incident, that thing that happens that sets you upon your journey, if that’s a dud, it’s a little harder to gain that momentum later on.

You need to start out strong with a ‘why’ that people can relate to, understand, connect with, whatever. And I agree with you. It was exciting. John Cena’s turning heel. Oh, the potential. But there wasn’t anything dramatic about it other than the fact that he turned heel.

It was interesting. Even, you know, I did see the clip of his promo. I didn’t see it live. I saw the clip of it. It was okay, I mean the delivery was great but just the message was kind of weak for that.”

John Cena Warned By Ric Flair

John Cena has been issued a stern warning by another WWE Hall Of Famer, ‘The Nature Boy’ Ric Flair.

The two legendary Superstars are tied at 16 World Championship reigns apiece, with Cena looking to edge past Flair with victory over Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania.

Ahead of the bout, Flair has warned Cena that his odds of picking up victory in Las Vegas are ‘astronomical’.
