John Cena Could Feature At WrestleMania 40
John Cena could be close to a WWE return.
WrestleMania 40 already looks to be a huge event, but it could be about to get even bigger. John Cena hasn’t appeared in a WWE ring since the Hollywood writer’s strike ended back in November, but he could be back in a matter of weeks.
Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that while Cena will soon be filming a second season of Peacemaker, a WrestleMania appearance isn’t out of the question.
“Cena will soon be filming a second season of “Peacemaker.” There has been some talk about Cena at Mania. It’s basically up to his acting schedule and if there is something going on. If there is, he may appear but couldn’t do anything that would be deemed a risk. We were told that if he does appear, the idea is to do something fun, short and memorable and with substance.”
John Cena took on Austin Theory at WrestleMania 39 before returning to the ring in September. Cena wrestled his last match at Crown Jewel on November 4th where he lost to Solo Sikoa.
John Cena Faced Backlash For Vince McMahon Support
In a recent interview, John Cena offered his support to Vince McMahon and faced a huge backlash from fans as a result.
Back in January, McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis were hit with a lawsuit alleging sexual assault and sex trafficking. When discussing the allegations, Cena reiterated his love for McMahon, adding “We’ll see what happens.”
