John Cena Confirms WWE In-Ring Return
Not only is John Cena on his way back to WWE, he confirms he’ll be competing inside the squared circle!
On August 21st, Ryan Satin reported that John Cena is on his way back to WWE for an appearance on the September 1st episode of SmackDown in Hershey, PA. In addition, he will be headed overseas with the company when they present the Superstar Spectacle in Hyderabad, India on September 8th. The Superstar Spectacle is not set to be televised in the United States.
Fans immediately began to wonder whether Cena would be wrestling at either event or whether he would simply be making an appearance. Now, that speculation is put to rest as Cena himself took to social media to confirm that he’ll be wrestling in India for the first time in his decades-long career.
“Cannot wait to reunite with the @WWE family live on #Smackdown ! Especially excited to meet the #WWE Universe in India and wrestle for the FIRST TIME EVER in [India]! The time is NOW…. C U all VERY soon!!! @WWE @WWEIndia”

When Did John Cena Last Appear In WWE?
Fans last saw John Cena in WWE during a surprise appearance inside the O2 Arena at Money in the Bank, when Cena speculated on the idea of WrestleMania coming to London. He was interrupted by Grayson Waller, who insisted Australia would be a better venue for the blockbuster event before receiving an AA for his trouble.
John Cena’s last bout inside the squared circle came in April when he took on Austin Theory for the United States Championship at WrestleMania 39. While Cena had harsh words for Theory in the leadup to the match, it was Theory who emerged victorious on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
In a recent interview, Theory opened up about advice from John Cena on that day, with the 16-time World Champion telling him to enjoy the day and enjoy the moment.
