John Cena Confirmed For Major WWE Event
Plans for John Cena’s retirement tour continue to fall into place.
Back at Money In The Bank, John Cena stunned fans when he announced plans to retire in 2025. Rather than bidding farewell at WrestleMania 41, Cena later confirmed that in January he’ll embark on a year-long retirement tour consisting of between 35 and 40 dates.
Interestingly, it was recently reported that there has been talk backstage of John Cena challenging for one of WWE’s World Titles at the event. According to WWE’s records, Cena is currently tied with Ric Flair for the most World Championship reigns on 16.
If Cena is to challenge for a World Title at WrestleMania, could he get there via the Royal Rumble?
John Cena Is Ready To Rumble
WWE has dropped a new video on social media hyping the 2025 Royal Rumble and Cena confirmed he’ll be wrestling at the event while urging fans to buy tickets.
“Those are strong words. The last time is now. In 2025 there’ll be a myriad of history-making events. The last time that I will ever compete in a Royal Rumble event is February 1st, Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, and you wanna make sure you’re there.
It is my last Royal Rumble as the road to WrestleMania kicks off February 1st at Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis, Indiana, act fast as tickets are on sale this Friday.
The last time is now, and you should hurry up because, after this, you can’t see me.”
Back in August, John Cena confirmed he’ll be on the January 6th episode of Raw when the red brand makes its debut on Netflix. With the episode coming less than a month before the Rumble, Cena’s plans for the event will likely begin to come into focus.
