John Cena Possibly Competing At WrestleMania 39
With John Cena recently returning to WWE screens as part of his 20th anniversary celebrations, there is some suggestion that the star could be in line for a bout at WrestleMania 39.
John Cena returned to WWE screens for the first time since that match on the 27th of June edition of Raw in Laredo, Texas as he celebrated his 20th anniversary as a WWE Superstar. It was way back on the 27th of June 2002 edition of SmackDown that a young Cena introduced Kurt Angle and the world to his own brand of ruthless aggression.
Cena addressed his future on Raw and although he said he didn’t know when or where he did seem to confirm that he will indeed wrestle again. Many fans pointed to his interactions in recent weeks with WWE United States Champion Theory that a match between the two men could take place at SummerSlam but it now looks like that might not be the case.
Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that John Cena might not be on SummerSlam at all and is not currently scheduled for any WWE television for the foreseeable future.
He also adds that a showdown between Cena and Theory could take place, but possibly not until WrestleMania 39 in early 2023.
Roman Reigns and The Rock clashing in a bout for the ages has long been rumoured to be on the WrestleMania 39 card but with the event heading to Hollywood, it might be a big enough stage for both The Rock and John Cena to shine.
