John Cena And Cody Rhodes Set for Explosive SmackDown Confrontation
John Cena is going to SmackDown.
At WrestleMania 41, John Cena beat Cody Rhodes in controversial circumstances to become the new Undisputed WWE Champion for a record 17th time. Following the crushing defeat via a bizarre run-in from Travis Scott, Rhodes went on hiatus.
However, at Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 31, Rhodes decided to end his self-imposed exile and came to the aid of Jey Uso, who was being attacked by Cena and Logan Paul.
At the end of the night, Paul and Uso stood tall while challenging Cena and Paul to a tag team match at Money In The Bank. The bout was later made official by Triple H.
Cody Rhodes To Confront John Cena
In a new video on social media, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis confirmed that Cody Rhodes and John Cena will come face-to-face one more time ahead of Money In The Bank. Aldis also announced a huge six-woman tag team match for the show.
Folks, let’s start with this. Every single participant in the men’s and women’s Money In The Bank matches will be in the house tomorrow night on SmackDown. Yes, every representative of both Raw and SmackDown will be there. I can only assume that’s going to lead to some explosive confrontations.
Next, how about some six-woman tag team action with Rhea Ripley teaming up with Alexa Bliss and Stephanie Vaquer to take on Naomi, Roxanne Perez, and Giulia.
And finally, Cody Rhodes, and the World Heavyweight Champion, Jey Uso, well, they’ll be in the house to confront the WWE Champion John Cena and Logan Paul one final time before their historic tag team match at Money In The Bank.
Money In The Bank 2025 will be broadcast live from the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, on July 7. Meanwhile, it’s already been announced that the 2026 edition of the event will be held in New Orleans.
