John Cena To Challenge For Championship Gold At Survivor Series

WWE John Cena

The penultimate match of John Cena’s career has been revealed.

At Crown Jewel in Perth, Australia, John Cena will square off against AJ Styles for the final time.

The match was made after Cena posted multiple messages on social media aimed at Triple H, saying that he wanted to wrestle Styles one more time before he retires. For his part, Styles said he was more than ready to face Cena if and when the match was made.

The pair had a lengthy rivalry through 2016 and into 2017, with their last singles match coming in February 2018.

Ahead of the match, AJ Styles has promised that the pair will leave it all in the ring, pointing out that they have a history have making magic. During the same appearance, Styles reiterated that he plans to retire in 2026, noting that he’s increasingly worried about embarrassing himself in the ring as he gets older.

What Next For John Cena?

Following his match with Styles, Cena will then appear on the November 10 edition of Raw in Boston and the November 17 episode at Madison Square Garden. He’ll then return to the ring at Survivor Series, before ending his career at December’s Saturday Night’s Main Event.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, at Survivor Series, Cena will challenge Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship. The title remains the only major WWE championship Cena has never won.

An earlier report claimed that Gunther will be John Cena’s final opponent on December 13.
