John Cena gave a thoughtful answer when asked by a fan about why he doesn’t want to have kids.

The farewell tour of John Cena rolls on with the September 15th edition of Raw in Springfield, Massachusetts, which is the state where Cena grew up.

As Cena prepares for a few more matches left in his legendary career, he recently appeared at Fan Expo Boston.

At the age of 48 years old, John Cena has been married to his wife, Shay, since 2020, but the couple doesn’t have children. Even though Cena is extremely wealthy and has shown that he is very good with kids when interacting with them as a WWE superstar, he has stated many times that he didn’t want to have children.

When the question came up at Fan Expo Boston, Cena explained why he doesn’t have children with a simple statement.

“Currently, no. Why? Well… from the information that I’ve gathered—you kind of gotta look after ‘em.”

John Cena Further Explained Why He Doesn’t Have Children

The former 17-time WWE World Champion John Cena went on to make his point further by talking about his grueling schedule as a WWE superstar and actor.

“I’ve been working straight for 43 days now, and I got another 20 to go. So, if I were to bring a life into this world that needs environmental nurture and unconditional love… I also know that takes time. And I’ve been blessed with some great opportunities, and life has awarded me the chance to do some amazing things.”

“Right now, I want to seize those opportunities. So I don’t want to make an irresponsible choice and bring a life into the world that I will neglect. I don’t think that’s fair.”

After making his point, Cena thanked the fan for the personal question.

“That’s a great question. Thank you for being vulnerable enough to allow me to answer it. I appreciate you.”

The kindness of that fan meant a lot to John Cena, but it will be a different story at Wrestlepalooza when Cena faces one of his greatest rivals, Brock Lesnar, for likely the final time.
