A wrestler who fans may not see on John Cena’s level is calling out the Undisputed WWE Champion about a future match.

It was announced that WWE will head to Perth, Australia, for three major shows, including the Crown Jewel PLE.

May 2, 2025 – WWE, in partnership with the Western Australian Government through Tourism Western Australia, today announced that Crown Jewel: Perth will headline a WWE weekend takeover in Perth this October. Crown Jewel: Perth will take place at RAC Arena in Perth, Western Australia, on Saturday, October 11, 2025. The venue will also host Friday Night SmackDown on Friday, October 10, and Monday Night Raw on Monday, October 13.

As previously announced at WrestleMania 41, Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena will travel to Perth in October to make his final WWE appearance in Australia as part of his 2025 Farewell Tour.

Crown Jewel: Perth will pit Champion against Champion in both the men’s and the women’s divisions, with last year’s event seeing Cody Rhodes and Liv Morgan triumph to become the inaugural Crown Jewel Champions.

As mentioned in the press release by WWE, John Cena will make his final appearance in Australia as an active wrestler as part of his 2025 Farewell Tour.

The final appearance of John Cena in Australia should be a big selling point to fans who have watched Cena over the last 20+ years in WWE.

John Cena Challenged By WWE’s Grayson Waller

Several wrestlers on the WWE roster are from Australia, such as Rhea Ripley, Grayson Waller, Dakota Kai and Bronson Reed, who is currently on the injured list. The last time Australia held a WWE PLE was Elimination Chamber 2024, and Ripley was in the main event of the show, beating Nia Jax.

Waller is known for being brash and talking a lot of smack, so it wasn’t a surprise when Waller mentioned Cena during an interview with Channel 10 Australia.

“This is John Cena’s last appearance in Australia, and that’s a crazy thing.

John Cena is obviously the GOAT, he’s a legend of this industry, but he has to remember, he’s coming to Australia.

This is my house, I run this place, if he wants to come here, he’ll have to go through me.

That retirement tour is supposed to finish in December, maybe it finishes in October because if he comes anywhere near me in my country, I’m putting him out to pasture.”

John Cena will defend the WWE Championship against Randy Orton at Backlash on May 10th in Orton’s hometown of St. Louis. The match is being billed as “One Last Time” to suggest that it is likely the last time Cena will force Orton, who is perhaps Cena’s greatest rival.
