A major WWE chapter came to a close this past weekend as 17-time World Champion John Cena officially retired from in-ring competition after an illustrious 23-year stint with the company.

The Never Seen 17 had announced at last year’s Money in the Bank PLE that 2025 was going to be his final year as a wrestler, and he kept his word as he left his shoes and armband in the ring, following his loss to Gunther at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

He recently appeared on Cody Rhodes’ What Do You Want To Talk About? podcast, making it his first interview since hanging up his boots, and she some light on The Rock and Travis Scott’s disappearance from WWE.

John Cena and Cody Rhodes never spoke about former WWE Champion

The Rock and Travis Scott were a huge part of John Cena’s heel turn at Elimination Chamber. However, the Great One hasn’t been seen on television since the PLE and Scott hasn’t made an appearance since WrestleMania 41, where helped Cena defeat Rhodes.

During his chat with Cody, Cena stated while many others speculated about what could happen, both Cena and Cody never spoke about how things could be if The Rock and Travis Scott were around.

“Hey, you have The Rock and Travis Scott.’ Awesome, we can plan all this stuff. ‘Hey, you don’t have those two guys anymore.’ Not once did you and I — the whole world has had the conversation of, ‘What would it have been like if?’ — the two guys in it, with their d**k in the dirt, not once had a conversation about, ‘Man, what would it have been like if we had those guys.’ No. It was, ‘What do we do now?” Cena said. Cody Rhodes and John Cena shared a heartfelt moment during their interaction on Cody’s podcast, with Cena’s words touching the WWE Champion’s heart, which made him cry.
