John Cena Reveals If He’ll Be On WWE Raw Netflix Debut
John Cena has given a definitive answer about whether he’ll be on the first episode of Raw that airs on Netflix in January 2025.
Two of the biggest stories in World Wrestling Entertainment in 2025 will involve the legendary former WWE Champion John Cena and the top streaming service in the world, Netflix.
Earlier this year, a massive deal was announced for WWE Monday Night Raw to air live on Netflix starting in January 2025 for at least the next five years. It’s a deal that could extend to ten years and it also includes television rights to other WWE shows in multiple markets like the United Kingdom, Canada, and other countries.
As for John Cena, the former 16-time WWE World Champion announced in July that he plans to retire as an active in-ring competitor in 2025. The 47-year-old Cena thinks it’s time to call it a career after 22 incredible years as a WWE superstar. The plan is for Cena to compete throughout 2025 with his last match coming in December of that year.
Cena was asked by Complex if he’ll be on the first Raw of 2025, which will air live on Netflix.
“I can tell you I’ll be there for the debut. I think it’s 1/6. I’m not sure, I think so; don’t quote me on that, but it’s a history-making day for WWE. I’m so very proud of WWE. Man, I’m such a fan of the merger. I love the two companies, WWE and Netflix, and it’s an event that I will not miss. I will be there.”
The date is correct because Monday, January 6th will be the first Raw episode of 2025 and fans can watch it on Netflix. What WWE hasn’t announced yet is where that historic episode of Raw will take place.
What Kind of Schedule Will John Cena Have For WWE In 2025?
Recently, John Cena spoke about his plans for his final year as a WWE superstar in 2025. The future WWE Hall of Famer has a specific number of dates in mind.
“I can probably confirm that Peacemaker will take us to the end of 2024, and I can say that with the utmost conviction because I have given the calendar year 2025 to WWE.”
“I am retiring in 2025, and I start that farewell tour in January. I’ll end it in December, and it’s going to be right around 36 dates around the world to pay thanks and gratitude to the WWE audiences around the world. So that’s what I’m doing in 2025.”
It’s not yet known when Cena will next appear on WWE television.
