John Cena Announced For WWE Special
John Cena is heading back to Tampa, Florida.
At WrestleMania 41, John Cena shocked Cody Rhodes to win a record 17th World Championship.
In the days after the event, Cena began promoting himself as the last true World Champion and vowed to retire with the gold at the end of 2025. On the Raw after WrestleMania, Cena reiterated that he came back to WWE for 36 dates, and at that point, he had 27 to go.
While several of those dates remain a mystery to fans, another appearance has been confirmed.
In a post on social media, Triple H has now confirmed that John Cena will be at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Tampa, Florida, on May 24. There’s no word on whether Cena will be wrestling on the show or what he’ll be doing.
John Cena To Clash With Long-Time Rival
Before returning to Saturday Night’s Main Event, John Cena will defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Randy Orton at Backlash on May 10.
On the Raw after WrestleMania, Cena addressed fans for the first time since winning the World Championship. After again vowing to retire as champion and ruin the sport of pro wrestling, he was attacked from behind by Orton.
Fast forward to SmackDown, and the pair engaged in another war of words in the ring before Orton again got in an RKO. After the face-to-face, the match was confirmed for Backlash.
Elsewhere, it’s been reported that John Cena could team with Travis Scott to face Cody Rhodes and Bad Bunny before the end of 2025.
