John Cena Gives Advice To WWE Hopefuls During SummerSlam Try-Out
John Cena is looking to guide the next generation.
SummerSlam 2025 is set to be the biggest edition of the event’s long history as it expands to two nights for the first time.
Ahead of the event, WWE is also hosting try-outs, with the likes of Eli Knight, Ben Bishop, Lyra Valkyria’s fiancé LJ Cleary, and influencer Megan Walker all looking to land a spot in NXT.
While those stars and others are looking to launch their WWE careers, John Cena is just five months away from ending his. But that doesn’t mean he isn’t determined to pass on everything he’s learned on the way out.
In a new video posted to social media by WWE, Cena gave a pep talk to those looking to start their journey with the sports entertainment giant.
“You can be reliable, you can be coachable, and you can be f*cking interested. Those three things, they better your existence here. You might not be on the WrestleMania poster, but you sure as hell have bettered your odds of being part of the event.
But, if you are uninterested, uncoachable, and unreliable, this is the first and last time we talk.
I want to wish you the best in the rest of your tryout, your journey doesn’t have to end here. The great thing about our business is there’s many ways to get to the top.”
John Cena Inching Closer To Retirement
On night two of SummerSlam, John Cena will defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Cody Rhodes in a huge WrestleMania 41 rematch. At the spectacular back in April, Cena beat Rhodes in highly controversial circumstances via a helping hand from Travis Scott.
The win meant that Cena became a World Champion for a record 17th time.
Meanwhile, Triple H recently named the five people he spoke to about John Cena’s heel turn before the twist made it to television.
