John Cena’s Final Advice To Cody Rhodes Before WWE Retirement
John Cena’s retirement has left a hole in WWE’s roster, but that does not mean that the roster is broken.
The Champ himself had claimed that fans would forget him by Royal Rumble 2026, and the story always moves on.
In fact, Gunther mirrored this emotion after he defeated The Champ at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Cena’s final match. He urged fans to stop crying because life moves on.
John Cena had one final advice for Cody Rhodes
The Franchise Player had his first post-retirement interview with Cody Rhodes on What Do You Wanna Talk About? With Cody Rhodes. Cena had scheduled this interview before, and he wanted this to be the first one after his retirement.
The megastars spoke about the Farewell Tour, his future plans, and everything else he built in WWE. During the show, they spoke about The Champ’s final match and how he went around thanking everyone. As recalled by Rhodes, despite being the busiest man in the arena that night, Cena took a moment to give The American Nightmare a piece of advice.
You gave me something on Saturday that did just tickle me inside. I was so glad you gave me one last piece, because you were just walking around saying thank you, like you said, trying to have meaningful moments. And I thought it would be a quick pass-by. There was no one busier on that day than you. You came by, and you shook my hand, and you said, ‘thanks for being here’, but then you go, ‘but one thing’, and then you leaned in, and it was a whole thing about staying in the ring too long afterwards with the kid. And I thought, ‘man, even on the last night’.
Cody Rhodes is currently engaged in a feud with Drew McIntyre.
