John Cena Addresses Final WWE PLE Match Of Legendary Career

John Cena WWE IC Title

The Intercontinental Title will be on the line for John Cena’s final WWE PLE match.

As November comes to a close, WWE fans are realizing that the end of John Cena’s in-ring WWE career is finally here.

It was in the summer of 2024 that Cena announced 2025 would be his final year. His final match was set for December, and as the year unfolded, we learned about his schedule of shows all over the world.

For his final WWE Premium Live Event match, John Cena will defend the Intercontinental Championship against the former champion, Dominik Mysterio.

When Cena beat Mysterio for the IC Title on the November 10th edition of Raw, it was in Boston, which is near where Cena grew up. When they face off at Survivor Series, “Dirty” Dom will have the home-field advantage in his hometown of San Diego.

Ahead of his final WWE PLE match, John Cena posted on X about Survivor Series.

Bret Hart Would Have Loved To Work With John Cena

Since John Cena started on the WWE main roster in June 2002, he was five years too late to wrestle Bret Hart in WWE. Bret left WWE in November 1997 for WCW and had his career cut short about two years later in WCW.

While Bret is known for being perhaps a bit surly when it comes to some wrestlers, Bret gushed positively about Cena as a WWE superstar during a recent appearance when he was asked about guys he wished he could have wrestled.

“John Cena would be up [there]. Can you imagine John Cena with the US/Canada thing that I had going? Hypothetically, say the Screwjob never happened and I was still in the WWF; that would have happened. I would have worked with John Cena, and we would have done amazing stuff.

I’ve always been really impressed by John Cena. I’ll just say this: when I went back there in 2010, I found John Cena to be very comparable to me in the sense that he was a serious professional. He was a detail guy who went over every little detail in the match. I remember watching him go over the match with different wrestlers and being around him. I remember going, ‘That’s what I used to do.’

I found John Cena to be just such a professional. I would have loved to have worked with him.”

Here’s the lineup for WWE Survivor Series on November 29th in San Diego, featuring Cena’s final WWE PLE match.
