Joe Hendry’s NXT Title Match Gets Special Referee

Joe Hendry

The NXT Championship will be on the line at No Mercy but now Joe Hendry vs. Ethan Page has got a very special referee.

NXT No Mercy will take place on September 1st in Denver, Colorado and now after being taped a week ahead of time, the go-home show for that event has aired.

At No Mercy TNA star Joe Hendry will challenge Ethan Page for the NXT Championship but now they won’t be the only two stars in the ring for that bout. The 27th of August edition of NXT saw Joe Hendry host another concert but it didn’t take long for him to be interrupted by NXT Champion Ethan Page.

As Page ran his mouth at Hendry, NXT General Manager Ava had a huge announcement to make and noted that because of Page’s disrespect towards NXT officials, she had named a special referee for the title match before introducing Trick Williams.

An irate Ethan Page attempted to attack Hendry but he laid the champion out with a chokeslam and pinned him allowing Williams to count the pinfall. If that happens at No Mercy then a new NXT Champion will be crowned – and one that doesn’t even work for WWE.
