Joe Hendry Targets WWE Gold After WrestleMania Loss

Joe Hendry

After his surprise WrestleMania debut against Randy Orton, Joe Hendry is back on WWE TV and has his sights set on gold.

Randy Orton was left without a WrestleMania 41 opponent after Kevin Owens was pulled from the event due to a serious neck injury. Orton issued an open challenge on night two of the event so he could have the 20th WrestleMania match of his career, and that challenge was answered by TNA World Champion Joe Hendry.

Orton made short work of Hendry, dropping the Scottish star with an RKO in just three minutes. Despite the quick loss, Joe Hendry has disagreed that he was squashed at WrestleMania.

Joe Hendry Wants NXT Gold

On the April 22 edition of NXT, Trick Williams confronted NXT Champion Oba Femi following Femi retaining his title against Williams and Je’Von Evans and Stand & Deliver. However, Hendry quickly appeared on the scene, telling Williams he wasn’t the same man he teamed with last year.

After a back-and-forth about Hendry’s WrestleMania exploits, Hendry told Oba Femi that after TNA’s next pay-per-view, Rebellion, he was coming after Femi’s gold. This made Williams irate, with Hendry and Oba Femi both sending him out of the ring to end the segment.

At Rebellion on April 27, Joe Hendry will put his TNA World Championship on the line in a three way match against both Frankie Kazarian and Ethan Page.
