Joe Hendry Tipped To Become The Next John Cena
Joe Hendry can go to the very top according to one rival.
On the July 9th episode of NXT, Joe Hendry made a winning return to WWE teaming with Trick Williams to beat Ethan Page and Shawn Spears.
The Scottish star has arguably been the biggest beneficiary of WWE’s new link-up with TNA having seen his popularity explode. Hendry made his full WWE debut on the June 18th edition of NXT where he took part in a 25-man Battle Royal to determine a new number one contender for the NXT Championship.
WWE has reportedly been very happy with Hendry and the reaction to his appearances, and he’s expected to feature heavily going forward.
Moose Believes In Joe Hendry
In a new interview with WhatCulture, TNA World Champion Moose sang Hendry’s praises, going as far as to say he’s on the cusp of becoming the “next John Cena.”
“Yeah, I believe in Joe Hendry. I think Joe Hendry is on the cusp of being the next John Cena,” Moose said. “I know he has worked his ass off. His story and his journey show you that hard work pays off.
A lot of people don’t know the work that Joe Hendry put in, and all the questions he asked, him cornering some of the older guys in the locker room, asking them questions on how to be better and how to get better. I’m just happy that all those questions, all that hard work, and everything he’s done to get to the position he’s in is actually paying off.”
Hendry is set to challenge for the TNA World Championship in a six-way elimination match at Slammiversary on July 20th.
