Joe Hendry Leads TNA Fight For NXT Title

Joe Hendry WWE NXT

Someone in WWE must have said his name because Joe Hendry appeared on NXT as he entered the battle royal to earn a shot at the NXT Championship.

In recent weeks, TNA and WWE have forged a partnership that saw TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace challenge Roxanne Perez for the NXT Title. Following that Grace had issued an open challenge for her championship at Against All Odds and it was Tatum Paxley who answered that call making her debut in TNA in the process.

Cody Rhodes announced a battle royal would take place on the 18th of June edition of NXT to find a new number one contender for Trick Williams’ NXT Championship and warned that stars from any locker room could appear.

Joe Hendry Stopped By TNA Rival In NXT

NXT began with 23 of the competitors in the battle royal in the ring before TNA’s Joe Hendry made his surprise entrance and told fans he was going to bring the NXT Title to TNA. Ethan Page then made his entrance and the match was on.

However, for Hendry, it did not last long as he was quickly eliminated by another TNA star and the man who defeated Hendry at Against All Odds, Frankie Kazarian. The fans chanted bullsh*t in response and in a video released by WWE later on, Hendry confronted Shawn Michaels and warned he could turn up on any show at any time.

Former AEW Tag Team Champion Kazarian lasted until the final four of the battle royal before being eliminated by Je’Von Evans. Evans went on to win the match by last eliminating Shawn Spears.
