Joe Hendry Defeats Former WWE Champion On SmackDown Debut

Joe Hendry WWE NXT

Current WWE NXT star Joe Hendry kicked off the final episode of SmackDown tonight as he treated the live audience in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to a trademark Joe Hendry concert.

During the concert, the audience was greeted by the presence of Otis, who was dressed as Santa and a mysterious bunny. Hendry took shots at the man who took his place in the ‘Last Time Is Now’ tournament, The Miz, during his concert.

His performance angered The Miz, which led to the pre-announced match between the two, only it was turned into a Miracle on 34th Street Fight by the SmackDown General Manager, Nick Aldis.

Joe Hendry wins on his WWE SmackDown Debut

Hendry had already made his debut to the main roster crowd at WrestleMania 41 when he answered Randy Orton’s open challenge. Tonight, he showed his talent to the SmackDown faithful.

Both Miz and Hendry wrestled an incredibly entertaining match for the WWE Universe, which ultimately went Hendry’s way as he won the match with some help from the Bunny, Otis, and Akira Tozawa.

The Bunny was eventually revealed to be Miz’s former tag team partner, R-Truth, as Otis and Tozawa hit him with their finishers while Truth hits the five knuckle shuffle. Hendry then finished off the match by hitting Miz with a guitar and putting him through a table with the Standing Ovation.
