Jim Ross Wouldn’t Be Surprised To See WWE Star Land In AEW

Jim Ross

Jim Ross has tipped one WWE star to join AEW.

Although he’s yet to officially leave the company, it’s widely believed Ricochet was written off WWE television on Raw via an attack from Bron Breakker. The star is expected to walk away from WWE when his contract expires, with AEW in pole position to secure his signature.

The star’s contract is due to expire in the coming weeks, leaving the way clear for him to continue his career elsewhere.

Speaking on his Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross gave his thoughts on Ricochet, and the chances of him joining the AEW roster.

“Well, not really, but I don’t know how much difference he makes. It depends on how he’s brought in and how he’s presented and how he’s positioned. He’s a talented kid, there’s no doubt about that. I’ve met with him before, and I like him. He’s very spot-heavy. I’d like to see him be able to be a little bit more fundamentally sound. But he’s a very talented, athletic kid, so who knows?

But it seems to me to be kind of obvious that the AEW brand would be where he might migrate to. It’s regular work. I don’t understand. It seems to me like the fact that guys can work essentially one or two days a week and still make a good living and work with quality guys, that’s the great thing, too.

Tony Khan has assembled an amazing roster. It’s pretty terrific, quite frankly, and I like the fact that they got that rolling, and again, you see how good these guys and gals are on these big events. Ricochet, he can add something to the mix if he’s brought in the right way and he makes an impact and so forth.

So we’ll see how it works out, but he’s a good kid. Seems to me like a very good kid, and he’s sure as hell talented,”

Jim Ross Shares Positive Health Update

During the same episode, Jim Ross confirmed he’s on the mend after spending time in hospital with a virus. The legendary announcer missed Double or Nothing after being admitted to the hospital, but said he’s feeling better by the day, and expects to return to work at Forbidden Door.

Ross went on to thank Tony Khan for his support during his health struggles.
