Jim Ross doesn’t have long left on his AEW deal, but he’s taking things one day at a time.

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross is one of the most legendary voices in wrestling, having worked in the industry for over four decades. These days, he’s signed to All Elite Wrestling, where he’s served as commentator on Dynamite, Rampage, and the main event of the debut episode of Collision.

While it was expected that Ross would serve as commentator for the main events of Collision going forward, he suffered a bad fall on the morning of June 17th that left him severely bruised as well as concussed. He did travel to Chicago for the debut broadcast, but following the show, announced that he would be taking time away from the announce booth to allow himself to heal as the fall also affected how he sounded.

Speaking on the latest episode of Grilling JR, Ross provided an update on his health before noting that he doesn’t have long left on his AEW deal, something that doesn’t seem to concern him in the slightest.

“I will be back. I will continue working. My contract with AEW is still in place. I don’t have a lot of time left on it, but I’ve got enough. I’m not concerned about that. Either I’m retained, or I’m not. I’m just gonna take it a day at a time and see how it works out.

“But I enjoy working for AEW. It’s fun to be part of a startup. I said that when I was hired. It’s great to see all these young guys start to come into their own, and I’d love to be there for the rest of the journey to help guide them along the way, almost in a talent relations type situation. I enjoy helping these kids.”
