Jim Ross has broken his silence after undergoing surgery as he fights his latest serious health battle.

After fighting several health battles in recent years, Jim Ross announced that he’d been diagnosed with colon cancer on May 15th and would be undergoing surgery.

He later revealed that his surgery was scheduled for May 27th, and the wrestling world collectively crossed its fingers for the announcing legend. There was a positive update on JR’s health following the surgery, but now the world has heard from the man himself.

Jim Ross Begins Road To Recovery

Taking to social media, Jim Ross gave an update on his health following his surgery, and it seems everything went as well as could be hoped:

Happy to say that today’s cancer surgery was a success. Now we be begin to rehabilitate.

In the days leading up to the surgery, Jim Ross was in a fighting mood, stating that he had no plans to retire, despite his latest setback. The WWE Hall of Famer went on to pay tribute to Tony Khan and the entire Khan family for their support during this difficult period. Ross has previously revealed that his current AEW contract ends in August, and he hoped to be on the call at All In Texas in July.

Jim Ross began his wrestling career as a referee back in 1974, before picking up the microphone for Mid-South Wrestling, Jim Crockett Promotions, WCW, WWE, NJPW, and currently AEW.
