Jim Ross Recovering After Surgery

Jim Ross has revealed he is recovering from wrist surgery.

The legendary announcer has endured numerous health concerns in recent years and has twice been admitted to hospital in 2024 with breathing difficulties, most recently on 25th June.

The Oklahoma native has proven an inspirational figure to many during his well-documented battle with Bell’s Palsy having suffered multiple attacks since the first noted instance in January 1994.

Former WWE Head Of Talent Relations Ross has also undergone lengthy treatment for skin cancer since 2021 and recently revealed he had quit drinking after doctors had diagnosed him with diabetes.

The popular WWE Hall Of Famer made his long-awaited return to the announce desk at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door on 30th June to call the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship bout between Jon Moxley and Tetsuya Naito, as well as Swerve Strickland’s AEW World Championship defence against Will Ospreay.

Ross took to social media site ‘X’ to announce his latest surgery had taken place and provided a positive update on this current recovery status:

“Wrist surgery successfully done. Healing continues.”

Jim Ross Gives Candid Response To Retirement Question

The 72 year-old recently celebrated 50 years in the wrestling business having originally debuted as a referee in NWA Tri-State in 1974.

Ross was recently questioned about his retirement date and provided a candid answer, suggesting 2024 could be his last behind the announce desk.
