Jim Ross Provides Major Health Update & Reveals AEW Return Plans
Celebrated wrestling commentator Jim Ross has provided an update about his health.
In May, Ross had taken to social media to inform the wrestling world about his battle with colon cancer, and he would be undergoing surgery.
Despite the diagnosis, the WWE Hall of Famer remained positive.
Ross has previously suffered from various health issues, including skin cancer. He even defied doctors’ orders against traveling to call Sting’s last match in early 2024.
Jim Ross Shares Update After Surgery
Jim Ross has successfully undergone surgery and believes the worst is behind him.
The 73-year-old also added that he might return for commentary at AEW’s All In: Texas next month.
Appearing on his Grilling JR podcast, “JR” made his first appearance post-surgery and shared his health update.
Just healing, man, just trying to heal and get better. And that’s kind of my goal right now.
I had a meeting with my surgeon earlier this week. He’s very happy, which makes me very happy… I believe they got all the cancer, which is great. So, you know, I’m very blessed in that regard. I was scared to death for a while, to be honest with you, because it’s just it’s that mysterious thing that you don’t know.
Jim Ross also shared his next goal, which is to be held at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, on July 12.
I’m hopeful that that’s what happens. I’d love to be a part of that event and see the fans and see the talents. I miss the talents a lot… My plan is to be there, so we’ll have to kind of wait and see… I want to get back in the game somehow, some way, and contribute to the success of AEW and your big event.
The wrestling veteran also spoke about the kind messages he received following the cancer diagnosis and expressed immense gratitude for the support.
