Jim Ross Pays Tribute To Sycho Sid
Jim Ross remebers Sycho Sid.
On August 26th, it was announced that Sid Eudy, better known to wrestling fans as Sycho Sid and Sid Vicious had passed away following a battle with cancer. Eudy was 63 years old.
After beginning his career with Continental Championship Wrestling in 1987, Eudy went on to win the World Champion in both WCW and the WWF. The star also headlined WrestleMania twice, first opposite Hulk Hogan in 1992, and later with The Undertaker in 1997.
Following his passing there have been growing calls for the legend to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Jim Ross Remembered “Unique Character” Sycho Sid
Speaking on his Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross paid his own tribute to the star.
“He deserves [his flowers]. He was such a unique character, he made that character his own and we weren’t sure what it was for a long time. He was a country boy. He went from hard-scrabble West Memphis, Arkansans, to Madison Square Garden … and because he was a little gullible, he oftentimes was ribbed in a way that wasn’t healthy ribbing.”
Ross went on to lament some of Sid’s colleagues making his life more difficult than it needed to be, before again praising his skills as a performer.
“He had the perfect body for a wrestling villain or hero, depending on the circumstances. Just gifted. Some of the things he did in his promos, he did out of instinct.”
In his own tribute, WWE Hall of Famer Arn Anderson said the wrestling world had lost a giant.
