Jim Ross Excited For Bryan Danielson’s New Role In AEW
Jim Ross can’t wait to see how Bryan Danielson performs as he follows in the WWE Hall of Famer’s considerable footsteps.
Bryan Danielson’s in-ring days might be behind him, but he’s not going anywhere. The former AEW World Champion recently began his new role as a full-time commentator for Tony Khan’s company, joining Excalibur and Taz at the Dynamite announce table.
One of AEW’s first signings for commentary legend Jim Ross and JR still provides his own expert analysis for the company’s pay-per-view main event matches. But while Ross’ commentary career might be drawing near to its end, he’s only got good words to say about the new man at the table.
Jim Ross Has Confidence In Bryan Danielson
Speaking on his Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross explained why he’s confident that The American Dragon will be a success in his new role:
I’m looking forward to it. He’s a studious student of the game. Has a lot of knowledge. He’s more than happy to share, which I think is great. So I like the addition of him. It gets the knowledge out of a talent that has been kind of sequestered… Bryan’s a really smart guy, and I heard some of his work. I think he does a good job. I have utmost confidence in Bryan Danielson that he’s going to do a tremendous job.
He’s smart, he’s studious. He works as hard at getting ready for a broadcast as he did getting ready for matches, and he’s well known for that. I think it’s good for our show and the brand and exposing Bryan Danielson is a smart thing. It’s good product, product placement, if you will. So Tony Khan’s got a great vision for things like that. So I’m excited to see where it all heads.
Bryan Danielson recently spoke out on WWE’s “weird games” towards AEW as their counter-programming strategy continues with Wrestlepalooza taking place on the same day as All Out.
