Jim Ross Dismisses Wild Bret Hart Claims
Jim Ross has laughed off recent comments from Bret Hart.
To one degree or another, the wrestling legacies of Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, and Vince McMahon will forever be intertwined. And that’s in large part due to their respective roles in the infamous Montreal Screwjob.
During a recent appearance, Hart looked back on the famous night in Montreal and claimed that McMahon and Michaels were involved in a sexual relationship. He said that while he didn’t have proof, he believed he was “very close to the truth.”
Jim Ross Calls “Bullsh*t” On Bret Hart Claims
On the latest edition of his Grilling JR podcast, legendary commentator Jim Ross gave his thoughts on the recent claims by Hart. The WWE Hall of Famer was quick to dismiss the idea that McMahon and Michaels had a sexual relationship, bluntly describing it as “bullsh*t.”
“That’s great. That’s hilarious. Bret knows how to push the buttons, man. That’s all he’s doing. It’s all he’s doing. And it’s working because we’re talking about it among others…
That’s bullsh*t. Shawn in that era, at that point in that time, he was in a different mindset. He was a different guy. I don’t think he believes what he just said. I think he just stirred [crap up].”
With regard to McMahon’s likely reaction, Ross said that while he’d try and laugh it off in public, he’d be privately seething.
“Well, in front of people, they’ll try to blow it off like it means nothing, because it’s just a bitter guy trying to stir the sh*t. And that’s what I would think. But privately, it’ll piss him off a little bit, and he’ll internalize he’ll be angry, but he won’t, I don’t think he’ll publicly, publicly show it, or say anything about it.”
On an earlier episode of his podcast, Jim Ross confirmed that he’ll be returning to AEW television in December. Although he didn’t reveal any specific dates, it’s likely that Ross will be back on the call for Worlds End on December 27.
