Jim Ross Could Extend AEW Stay
Jim Ross is feeling better than ever.
Back in March, it was revealed that Jim Ross had signed a new one-year AEW contract.
Ross has been with the company since 2019, but he’s faced several serious health problems in recent years including a bout of skin cancer.
After signing the new deal, Ross admitted it would likely be his last as a commentator, although he did leave the door open to continue given his reduced schedule.
During a recent episode of his Grilling JR podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer was asked whether he’d be on hand for All In: Texas in July 2025. Ross said he expected that to be the case as his contract expires in August, and hinted he could yet stay with the company beyond that.
“Oh, yeah, I think so. My contract expires in August [2025). But I don’t have any sense or feeling that I’m not gonna be kept. Because of the schedule I do, I could maintain that for years to come. I’m not saying that in a braggadocios fashion. This is what I do. This is what I was born to do.
As long as my heart is beating and I’m healthy, and right now, I’m healthier than I’ve ever been. Once this wound heals, and it’s getting closer and closer, I’ll be 100%. I’m waiting for my hip to heal from hip surgery,”
Jim Ross Recovering Well
During the same episode, Jim Ross explained that his health has improved “immensely” in recent months. However, Ross noted that his radiation wound from his skin cancer treatment is healing and he’s feeling good.
The veteran added that his next assignment with AEW will likely be Worlds End in Orlando Florida.
