Jim Ross Suffered A “Bad Fall” In The Lead-Up To AEW All In

Jim Ross All Elite Hat

Jim Ross is sore as hell but recovering well.

Despite being less than two months removed from undergoing surgery for colon cancer, Jim Ross returned to the AEW commentary desk at All In.

As has become customary in recent years, Ross tagged in for the final two matches of the night, calling the action as Kazuchika Okada beat Kenny Omega, and “Hangman” Adam Page dethroned Jon Moxley in a stunningly violent Texas Death Match.

Even though he’s faced several health battles in recent years, Ross has repeatedly stated that he’s got no plans to retire.

Jim Ross Suffers Hotel Fall

On the first episode of his Grilling JR podcast after the event, Ross revealed that he was in even more pain than fans were aware of. He noted that he suffered a “bad fall” in his hotel room on the Thursday night before the show, something made worse by the fact he’d lost his phone.

“I’m still recovering from Dallas. I had a bad fall on Thursday night in my hotel room. And I was lucky. I wasn’t down for the count, but I had a hell of a fall and soft tissue… I didn’t break anything, I don’t think, but I had a bad fall in my hotel room, and I didn’t have my phone because, as you know, I had left my phone in an Uber, and I didn’t have any way of communicating with anybody.

I just went to bed. And it was challenging.”

Ross added that he’s “sore as hell,” but in typical style, added that he’ll be alright.

“I was still sore, to this very minute, I’m still sore. So it was quite the ordeal. That’s the only negative thing I could say is that I had a bad fall, and I survived it. I’m still today, I’m still sore as hell. The older you get, the slower you heal. And that’s kind of my situation right now, just slow to heal. But I’ll make it. I’ll be alright. It’s not the first time that’s happened to me.”

There’s no word on when Jim Ross will be back with AEW.
