Jey Uso Shocks Gunther For WWE World Title
There is a new World Heavyweight Champion in WWE as Jey Uso has turned the tables on Gunther to capture the biggest win of his career.
Jey Uso shocked the world when he won the 2025 Royal Rumble, booking his place in a title match at WrestleMania 41. After being talked down to and attacked by Gunther, Uso confirmed that he’d be challenging The Ring General on the grandest stage of them all.
Gunther wasn’t thrilled with his WrestleMania opponent, while Jey Uso has revealed how he really feels about not headlining WrestleMania despite winning the Rumble.
But in Las Vegas, any disappointment Jey Uso might have felt completely disappeared.
Jey Uso Taps Out The Champion
At WrestleMania 41, Uso received a massive WrestleMania entrance complete with Las Vegas Raiders and the biggest “Yeet-a-long” in history. But when the bell rang, Gunther came into his own with his usual hard-hitting offence.
Gunther resorted to using a title belt to Uso’s head after kicking out of the Uso Splash, but Jey Uso wouldn’t stay down for the count. Uso withstood just about everything the Austrian star could throw at him, and when he reversed a powerbomb into one of his own, the tide turned massively.
Uso managed to nail three Uso Splashes in a row before making Gunther tap out with a sleeper hold to become the World Heavyweight Champion for the first time in his career.
With tears in their eyes, Jimmy Uso joined his twin brother in the ring to celebrate the historic moment.
