Jey Uso Makes Surprising WWE Admission
Jey Uso has given a surprising assessment of his in-ring skills.
At the Royal Rumble, Jey Uso defied the odds and then-fan favourite John Cena, to win the match and earn a shot at the World Championship at WrestleMania 41.
While Uso is incredibly popular, some have questioned whether he’s a big enough star and a strong enough performer to have such a high-profile match on the card. WWE has even played into this sentiment on Raw, with the star making uncharacteristic mistakes during matches.
Despite the noise from the doubters online, Uso is determined to show the world what he’s capable of when he steps into the ring with Gunther in Las Vegas. Even if he feels he isn’t the most talented wrestler on the WWE roster.
Jey Uso Reflects On WWE Rise Ahead Of WrestleMania
During an appearance on the Raw Recap podcast, Uso looked back on his battles with The Bloodline, and how they helped shape the performer he’s become. However, in doing so, he also admitted there are a “whole bunch of wrestlers” better than him, but they aren’t in his position.
“Run that whole Bloodline story back from day one. You’ll get lost in the sauce like everybody else do. They wanted me to beat Roman. They cheered for me hard. There was never no backlash at that moment. So I kind of know how to move and groove with the game. It resonates with me because that was my best body of work.
That gave me confidence to do the singles thing. It gave me confidence in the microphone, gave me confidence in front of the camera. I feel like I act like everything is ten out of ten for me.
They gonna pick me apart right now Uce because I’m in this position. ‘He can’t do this, he got three moves.’ If we really want to be honest, there’s a whole bunch of dope wrestlers way better than me, but they’re not at the top.
They got 20 moves, and y’all can do all that, but they not in my position. It’s a different game up here. But y’all watched me learn, y’all watched my best work, my best craft, the whole way.
Y’all still see it now. You’ll see glimpses of it now when I cut the promos. That’s all me, Uce. That is 100 percent, no scripted, tell me talk about WrestleMania, I’m gonna talk about WrestleMania.”
In closing, the defiant Royal Rumble winner said he’s getting ready to shock the world for a second time at WrestleMania. Uso got his road to WrestleMania got back on track on the March 24 edition of Raw where he teamed up with his brother for the first time in months to defeat A-Town Down Under.
