Why Jey Uso Fans Should Be Happy After Title Loss

Jey Uso WWE

A WWE Hall of Famer is trying to put a positive spin on Jey Uso losing the World Heavyweight Title back to Gunther.

The main event of WWE Monday Night Raw on June 9th saw Gunther beat Jey Uso to win the World Heavyweight Title. That win shocked some people since Jey only held the World Heavyweight Title for 51 days after beating Gunther for it at WrestleMania 41.

Bully Ray is also known as WWE Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley, and he’s a co-host on Busted Open Radio. While reacting to the match, Bubba explained that he liked the title change because it tells the audience that anything can happen, like Gunther winning back the World Title from Jey, even though most people probably thought Jey would win.

“If you’re a Jey Uso fan this morning, you got to be very happy with what you got from Jey Uso.

Listen, you can’t win all the time. Even the greatest teams in the world don’t win all the time. The Yankees lose, the Lakers lose, whoever your favorite team is, okay?

It was a hell of a run for Jey Uso, and I’m not even saying it’s over for him, but as of last night, he lost. Maybe it’s time for, not the back burner, but to cool the jets just a little bit. Now, do you cool the jets off of the merchandise and the entrance and this and that? I don’t know.

If they were to give Jey Uso a rematch next Monday night on Raw, and Jey Uso beat GUNTHER, I would love it. I love that anything can happen on any given night.”

Jey Uso’s Father Rikishi Angry After WWE World Title Loss

One man who was not happy about Jey Uso’s World Title loss was Jey’s father, WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi. While speaking on his Off The Top podcast, Rikishi blasted WWE’s creative team for taking the World Title away from Jey and suggested that some people should be fired for it.

“I feel that those that are writing for this kid his storyline, you didn’t do him justice. You didn’t feed this champion right talent to be able to continue to make this champion… I say fire, fire.

Those that are writing for this kid here, if you can’t come up with some something simple to promote and push your champion that you… decide to put this kid in that position… get the hell out.”

One reason given for the title change is that WWE wants the Gunther-Goldberg match at Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12th to be a World Title match, so they felt like they had to get the World Title on Gunther again.

Jey Uso will try to bounce back on the June 16th episode of WWE Monday Night Raw when he takes part in a Fatal 4-Way match in the first round of the King of the Ring tournament. If Jey can pick up a win against Rusev, Sheamus, and Bronson Reed, then he’ll face his good friend Cody Rhodes in the King of the Ring tournament semifinals.
