In order to win the Rumble, Uso lastly eliminated John Cena to the shock of everyone in the stadium. Going into the match Cena had been a heavy favourite to win as he embarks upon his retirement tour.
In a new interview on the Nightcap podcast, Uso reflected on the moments after he won the match and some words of encouragement from Cena.
“He said, ‘Hey, man,’ he hugged me, he goes, ‘Hey, Uce, I remember your first tour, I said, I always told you and your brother, you guys will be fine. Be yourself.’ And he goes, ‘Look at these people now.’ That’s when he turned me to the crowd and, you know, they just [Yeeting],'” he said. “Yeah, man, love, love for John Cena. He’s a GOAT.”
During the interview, Uso said he hopes Cena wins the men’s Elimination Chamber match before going on to WrestleMania.
Jey Uso Chooses WrestleMania Opponent
The February 10 episode of Raw opened in electric fashion with World Heavyweight Champion Gunther attacking Jey Uso. However, as the champion was taken away by officials, Uso announced he wanted to face Gunther at WrestleMania 41.
At this, Gunther tried to storm the ring once again, but Uso took him out with a huge dive to the outside.
This likely means that the winner of the Elimination Chamber will challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 41. John Cena is widely expected to challenge Rhodes in his quest to win his 17th world title.
