Je’Von Evans Suffers Huge Loss on WWE NXT
A huge main event clash was scheduled for tonight’s show, as the NXT Championship was being defended by Oba Femi, just days after he won the title from Ricky Saints at Deadline.
Tonight’s episode opened with Oba addressing the NXT Universe and sending a message to Cody Rhodes. However, he was interrupted by both Ricky and the Men’s Iron Survivor, Je’Von Evans.
Evans challenged Oba for a match for the NXT Championship tonight itself, instead of waiting till New Year’s Evil, and a match between the two was made official by the NXT General Manager, Ava.
Oba Femi retains NXT Championship following outside interference
The match between Je’von Evans and Oba Femi was a perfect match-up of agility vs strength. Both wrestlers’ style was a perfect contrast from one another which made the match a spectacle for the fans.
Evans started the match with a lot of high’flying and quick-paced action but Oba slowed the pace down soon enough and took control of the match. He proceeded to have the upper hand for most of the match before Evans made a comeback in the match.
He looked to have won the match after hitting The Ruler with back-to-back frog splashes but Oba kicked out at the last mintue. He had another nearfall with a suprise cutter on Oba Femi but it wasn’t enough to do the job.

He followed that up with another cutter and one more from the top rope which seemingly had Oba Femi out cold. He had seemingly won the match at that point but Ricky Saints pulled the referee out of the ring before the three count.
This distracted Evans just enough for Oba to recover and hit Evans with a Fall from Grace to retain his NXT Championship after a gruelling match with the Young OG.
