Jesse Ventura Teases Ludicrous Hulk Hogan Showdown In WWE

Hulk Hogan

Jesse Ventura has confirmed his official return to WWE but it seems he still has designs on squaring up with his old rival, Hulk Hogan.

Jesse Ventura rose to fame as a wrestler in the 1970s before moving to the WWF at the start of the following decade. However, the veteran is best known for his commentary alongside Gorilla Monsoon and Vince McMahon in the wake of his retirement.

Ventura famously clashed with McMahon over royalties after being led to believe that only featured performers on WWE videotapes earned royalties back in 1987. In 1991, Ventura brought legal action against Titan Sports — the WWE’s parent company at the time, and eventually won.

Jesse Ventura was also the name linked with trying to form a wrestling union at that time and went on record with his belief that Hulk Hogan was the one who told Vince McMahon about his plan, leading to decades of bad blood between them.

The star went on to enjoy further success in Hollywood and as a politician, becoming Governor of Minnesota in 1999 before briefly returning to WWE in the same year. Ventura was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2004 and made his most recent appearance for the company in 2009.

Despite his contentious relationship with the company over the years, Jesse Ventura made a surprise appearance at WWE Raw back in July as he met several of today’s current stars, including CM Punk.

Jesse Ventura Never Got His Shot At Hulk Hogan

Speaking on his Jesse Ventura’s Die First Then Quit, Ventura has confirmed he’s now signed a Legend’s deal with WWE so is officially connected to the company once again and teases more is yet to come:

Hell has frozen over. Yes, hell has frozen over, I’m back in the WWE as a legend. I’ve gone through negotiations, we’ve reached agreements and I feel very good about it. I’m 73 years old now and my life has now gone full circle.

I got my first fame and fortune in the wrestling industry, I went on to do many, many other things beyond wrestling or outside of wrestling after I left it. And now maybe it’s only right that I come back to wrestling in the twilight of my life and finish off with what I always was – a pro wrestler.

[…] I’ve signed back with the WWE – I have to remember that, it was WWF when I was there and I’ll just say this there’s even more bigger and better stuff waiting to happen. I’ll finish like this, let’s remember one thing, I never did get my shot at Hulk Hogan, did I?

While it’s unlikely that 73-year-old Body will tangle with 71-year-old Hulk Hogan in the ring, WWE could have major plans to get Jesse Ventura back on TV soon.
