WWE Legend Jerry Lawler Shares Saddening Health Update
Jerry Lawler has revealed details about his latest health battles.
The WWE Hall of Famer revealed that the third stroke he suffered in September 2025 affected his ability to see colors, rendering him colorblind.
Lawler first suffered a stroke during the September 10, 2012, taping of WWE RAW, which forced his broadcast colleague, Michael Cole, to break character as he announced the news to the world.
He suffered another incident in 2023.
During a recent interview on WMC-TV in Memphis, the 76-year-old opened up about his current health.
Because of the stroke, I’m colorblind now. I can’t see colors anymore. I see in black and white.
He went on to reveal the events surrounding the latest stroke, which he claimed occurred unexpectedly while he was home alone.
You can’t always know when a stroke is coming. You think you can, but you really can’t. I was in Florida by myself and woke up one morning, and everything was messed up. I knew something was wrong right away.
Jerry Lawler revealed how his longtime partner, Lauren McBride, aided him by directing paramedics over the phone, as she was in another state at the time.
I called Lauren and told her to come down from Memphis and get me. She helped get me into the hospital down there.
She was in Memphis, but over the phone she managed to direct the paramedics straight to Lawler’s bedside in Fort Myers, Florida. Even from a distance, she handled everything and made sure he got the help he needed. She still manages his day-to-day care now. [H/T: Ringside News]
Jerry Lawler Hopes To Wrestle One Final Time
Jerry Lawler is currently signed to WWE under the Legends contract.
Following his recovery from the 2023 stroke, he made sporadic appearances, even choosing the participants in the Iron Survivor Challenge at the 2023 NXT Deadline.
His commentary contract with the Stamford promotion ended in early 2024, but was not renewed.
Lawler recently reunited with his former WWE commentary partner Jim Ross at an Ultimate Stars Promotions event in Pittsburgh.
Speaking on an episode of the Busted Open Podcast, Ross revealed that while his reunion felt like a one-off, he was not opposed to the idea of having Lawler beside him in AEW.
