Jelly Roll Made Surprising Request To Triple H About WWE SummerSlam Match

Jelly Roll had a specific request to WWE boss man Triple H about his SummerSlam match.

One of the big attraction matches at WWE SummerSlam was a tag team match featuring Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul facing Randy Orton and Jelly Roll, a popular singer who is a lifelong WWE fan.

Most of the time when celebrities wrestle in WWE, they miraculously find a way to win the match even though they are competing against regular wrestlers.

That wasn’t the case for Jelly Roll at SummerSlam, however. The big spot in the match saw Paul hit a Frog Splash off the top of the ring post and he put Jelly through the table. Jelly looked like he was done as he was helped to the back, but then he tagged back in.

Jelly gave Paul a Chokeslam that looked great. Jelly also hit a Black Hole Slam that Michael Cole called the Black Roll Slam. The crowd was going crazy for Jelly. Paul went for a move off the turnbuckle, but Jelly countered with a powerslam for two because Drew broke it up. Drew hit a Claymore Kick on Jelly. Orton hit an RKO on Drew. Paul sent Orton into the turnbuckle right after that. Paul went to the top rope and hit the Paul From Grace (Frog Splash) on Jelly for the pinfall win.

During an appearance on Cody Rhodes’ “What Do You Wanna Talk About?” podcast, Jelly Roll told Cody that he wanted to lose, and he told that to WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Triple H.

“I told Triple H I want to lose at SummerSlam. Just cause no celebrity’s ever took an ‘L’, they always put them over. And if you don’t put me over, I always have a reason, there’s always just something lingering there, I can pop up anytime.”

Jelly Roll Shouts Out WWE NXT Talent That Helped Him Get Ready To Wrestle

To prepare for his WWE in-ring debut, Jelly Roll trained at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando while shouting out Jacob Fatu and WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker for helping him.

There were also some NXT wrestlers who helped a lot, according to Jelly.

“A couple of NXT kids that I want to shout out that really deserve it. Tag team champs over there are called Hank and Tank. I can’t wait till they get called up. I am cheering for them to get called up. The day they get called up, I’m going to cancel the show to come show up for them. They’ve been that good to me. But even better to me is a kid named Mitch, they call him Stacks at NXT.

These dudes have showed up for me every day and took tens, dozens of bumps a day for me every day while I’m learning this thing.”

As for the future, Triple H made it clear that Jelly Roll will be back in WWE again.
