Jelly Roll Suffered Injury While Training For WWE SummerSlam
Jelly Roll’s preparations for SummerSlam haven’t always been easy.
At SummerSlam, Jelly Roll will step into the ring for the first time when he teams with Randy Orton to face Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul.
In early July, he revealed that he’d already been training at the WWE Performance Center on a daily basis for around four weeks after moving to Orlando, Florida. This has included working with NXT coach Matt Bloom, as well as the likes of Jacob Fatu, The Undertaker, and Michelle McCool.
However, that training didn’t always go quite to plan.
During an interview with ESPN’s Get Up, the star revealed that he broke his finger just as he was getting started.
“Listen, that wrestling fake stuff has got to go out the door. There’s no fake way to land on a piece of plywood in front of 60,000 people. There’s no fake way to go over a cable rope in front of 65,000 people, man. I broke my pinkie in week one of training by accident. It’s a constant collision, dude.”
WWE Looking For More Jelly Roll Appearances
Even before setting foot in the ring at SummerSlam, it’s been reported that WWE is looking to use Jelly Roll again in the future. According to a new report, WWE has been “extremely impressed” with the star’s dedication and desire to put in a memorable performance.
In addition, there’s a hope that the singer will return for more appearances in early 2026.
Just two weeks after SummerSlam, the star is set to begin a tour through Europe before heading to Australia in October, finishing up at Corona Capital in Mexico City on November 15.
