Jeff Jarrett Picks Surprising Final For AEW Tournament
Jeff Jarett is looking forward to the AEW Continental Classic.
At Worlds End 2023, Eddie Kingston beat John Moxley to win the first-ever Continental Classic and become the Continental Champion. Kingston later lost the title to Kazuchika Okada, and he’ll be putting the gold on the line in the coming weeks.
With the new tournament on the horizon, the list of 12 competitors has been confirmed with Kyle Fletcher, Daniel Garcia, Mark Briscoe, The Beast Mortos, Shelton Benjamin, Will Ospreay, Claudio Castagnoli, Brody King, Juice Robinson, Ricochet, and Darby Allin joining Okada.
Each match has a 20-minute time limit, with wrestlers earning three points for a win, and one for a draw in the round-robin tournament. The field is split into two blocks of six, the Gold League, and the Blue League.
Jeff Jarrett Tips Rising AEW Star For Tournament Finals
During a recent episode of his My World podcast, Jeff Jarrett looked ahead to the tournament before making a bold pick for the finals. Despite the two leagues being stacked with talent, Jarrett said Kyle Fletcher is a name that really stands out and this could be his breakout moment.
“On the gold side, it’s gonna be hard, who needs it the most? Who wants it the most? I think Ricochet on the gold side. The person with the most experience out of the 12 participants, you’ve got to go Okada, but I think coming out of the blue bracket, I just see Fletcher.
Fletcher, 25 years old, I dove into quite a bit of research of him over the weekend, the kid’s been going since he was 15, he’s traveled all over the world. At 25 years of age, I will tip my hat to the guy. It’s a different era but over the last 10 years, there’s no doubt this young man has paid his dues and is paying his dues. This may be his breakout tournament.
I’m gonna go Ricochet and Kyle Fletcher in the finals.”
The tournament will kick off with three matches on the November 27th edition of Dynamite, with Darby Allin taking on Brody King, Claudio Castagnoli facing Ricochet, and Shelton Benjamin going one-on-one with Mark Briscoe.
